PERSONAL PICK: My OGC Diary: Philippines Cebu Temple

As I bid adieu my 3 1/2 years stint at the Office of General Counsel (OGC) and my recent visit in Cebu, I was reminded of a unique experience that I will always treasure in my life as a Latter Day Saint (LDS) and as a lawyer and that is being part of the Cebu Temple construction team. Yes, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a temple building church. Through the prophet Joseph Smith, Malachi's prophecy of Elijah's return was fulfilled(Malachi 4:5-6). Now, all LDS are encourage to prayerfully examine their lives and determine how we can participate in temple work. I am glad that I'm not only able to attend the temple but able to actually be involved in the literal construction of a temple. Here's my personal account of the Cebu Temple experience: February 2007 - The formation of the Cebu Temple Construction team and signing of all the documents for the construction. June 28, 2007 - A visit to the site with my then intern Mark Poff. T
